First, I wish to apologize to those who live with a mental health issue3
I truly do not mean to be flippant and insensitive
Nevertheless, I do recognize that this intro does not make what I am developing herein, right!
(In terms of a sort of callousness toward those living with mental health challenges)
Anyway, …
I am certain that I am crazy
(And so far, its kept me from going insane4
Though I think I’m getting close to the edge …
And yes, I fully realize that many of you would argue I already have)
The year I turned 70 I bicycled mostly alone from Burlington, Vermont back to Texas
Thinking I might have a positive effect on the “Bernie for President” campaign
And move Eaarth forward toward “positively ethical applied community ecology”, or all being PEACEmakers
And of course there has been much more craziness!
I have left some well-paid, tenure track positions
In my quixotic efforts to save the world
(And I do know that I do drive my wonderful wife Betsy
And other family members and some close friends …
Truly CRAZY!!!)
I’m currently speaking at every local school board, city council, county commissioners court meeting I can
And teaching, preaching, politicking “Small Is Beautiful” & “Less Is More”
This IS crazy!
(But not insane!!!)
There ARE many crazy things going on in the world
And they’re often sort of OK, even if not right …
paul bain & Betsy Martin flying to New Jersey soon to attend a friend’s wedding
A big celebration of a 51st wedding anniversary which isn’t so very ecologically-friendly
The Seguin City Council discussion regarding a Public Finance Corporation Multifamily project last eve
(With time for expressing the neoliberal need for a work force
And real concern for some aspects of appropriate homes for these “midlevel” workers
But also considerable time dealt with financial, developer, aesthetic, propaganda FLUFF
And almost nothing on short- or long-term energetics and the nitty-gritty of sustainability, i.e., PEACE, & sustainability indicators)
But the insane thing is all of the insane things going on
And they are definitely not OK …
Relatively unbridled neoliberal gun sales and subsequent shootings
War with these guns and other armaments
War in Ukraine, yes! But also many other proxy Wars, civil Wars, drug Wars, social Wars, ecological Wars.
Wars in elementary schools.
(They all are … insane!)
The most insane of all this insanity5 is …
Continued belief in “growth” & artificialization along with its inherent fossil energy & materiel as a positive process for: local & global humankind & dynamic homeostatic symbioses (or nature)
(That is, for a symbioses including quality life for all for a significant period of time)

Growth is the root cause of all this terribly inhumane killing
